That's how expensive the Audi RS6 is! That's why it costs even more than you thought!
The Audi RS6 is certainly a dream car for many and that has its price. But the pure purchase price is not the problem, the costs lurk elsewhere.
Yes, the Audi RS6 Avant is certainly not a bargain with a purchase price starting at 131,500 euros, but maybe it will work with leasing or financing. 600 hp and yet a practical family car – what more could you want! Even if there is no problem with the monthly rate, there are other costs for the vehicle that are much higher than you probably thought.
Let's start with the leasing rate, which is about 1,550 euros per month if you lease the RS6 for 36 months and don't drive more than 10,000 kilometers a year with it. However, in order for this installment to come about, a special payment of just under 13,000 euros is still due - you can buy a small car for that.
Beware, cost trap!
If you thought this was the most expensive item, you were wrong!

Tire
It gets really expensive with things that you don't immediately think of – for example, tires. In order to be able to drive safely and quickly with 600 hp, you need good tires. A set of summer tyres from the premium manufacturer costs a good 1,600 euros.
If you want to be on the road with the Audi in winter, then a second set of rims is necessary and of course you need winter tires. In total, 22-inch rims and premium tires cost about 5,000 euros.
Brake
If you drive your RS6 Avant on the race track or if you want to drive it for many years, there will be costs for the brakes at some point. Brake discs including brake pads cost 3,500 euros – without working time.
If you've chosen ceramic brakes, then you should hope they never break. A ceramic brake disc costs a whopping 6,000 euros. In total, the material costs for new ceramic brakes alone add up to an incredible 26,500 euros! A lot of money must have flowed into the piggy bank every month.
Spirit
Before buying or leasing, you will certainly take a look at the manufacturer's WLTP specification - and already there you will see that the RS6 Avant needs a lot to drink. Audi already specifies 12.2 liters per 100 kilometers. In practice, this is a good deal more, depending on the driving style, of course.
But if we stay optimistic about the 12.2 liters and assume that you only fill up with Super, then it costs about 1.76 euros (as of February 2025) per liter. So annual refueling costs for 10,000 kilometers would be a proud 2,147 euros.
Versicherung
When it comes to maintenance, you can either rely on everything going well or you can take out a maintenance contract with Audi. If you choose a contract for 42 months for 10,000 kilometers, it will cost you about 650 euros a year. But then you don't have to worry, because the normal maintenance and inspection is then taken over.
Let's get to the TÜV – at least it doesn't have to be paid annually. The technical inspection, including the emission test, costs 158 euros every two years.

This is how expensive the Audi RS6 Avant is
This brings us to the end of the calculation. Are you already curious about the annual costs for an Audi RS6 Avant? All together and calculated over a year, you are at over 10,000 euros in the year of purchase! We assumed that summer tires were included and that you had to buy winter tires. We also used the insurance for a leased vehicle for the calculation.
This sum only refers to the ancillary costs – the leasing rate is not yet included.
In the following years, it will be a little cheaper, because with normal driving you won't need tires or new brakes every year. Nevertheless, the costs should not be underestimated – would you have thought that?
